CorroMap

CorroMap
CorroMap is a lightweight, handheld system designed for rapid, non-destructive corrosion assessment of reinforced concrete structures. Using half-cell potential measurements, CorroMap generates a live, colour-coded map of measurement results, helping engineers visualize variations in corrosion potential and identify areas that may require further investigation.
The system also measures concrete electrical resistance, providing additional information about conditions that may influence corrosion activity. An optional upgrade allows corrosion-rate measurements to be incorporated into the assessment.

Features & Benefits
- Rapid corrosion assessment – efficiently survey reinforced concrete structures to identify variations in corrosion potential and areas requiring further investigation.
- Visualize results on site – measurement results are displayed as a live, colour-coded map for immediate review in the field.
- Efficiently survey large areas – perform up to 2,400 automated measurements using auto-trigger and auto-increment functions.
- Complementary measurements – measure half-cell potential and concrete electrical resistance to support evaluation of corrosion risk and concrete conditions.
- Optional corrosion-rate measurement – CorroMap can be upgraded to include corrosion-rate measurement capability.
- Built for field use – IP65-rated equipment is designed for use in environments exposed to dust, rain, and snow.
- One-person operation – integrated touchscreen and automated measurement functions support efficient field surveys by a single operator.
- Export data for analysis – measurement results can be transferred for further analysis, reporting, and presentation.
Applications
CorroMap is suited to reinforced concrete structures where corrosion potential mapping can support condition assessment, targeted investigation, and rehabilitation planning.
Typical applications include:
- Bridge decks and structural components
- Parking structures
- Balconies
- Swimming pools
- Marine and coastal structures
- Tunnels
- Industrial facilities
- Other reinforced concrete structures exposed to corrosion

How It Works
CorroMap measures the electrochemical potential of reinforcing steel at defined locations across a concrete surface. Measurement results are displayed directly on the handheld unit as a colour-coded map, allowing variations in corrosion potential to be viewed as the survey progresses.
Concrete electrical resistance measurements provide additional information that can be considered alongside the potential measurements when evaluating the condition of the structure.
Where the optional corrosion-rate capability is included, corrosion-rate measurements can be incorporated into the assessment to provide additional information about reinforcement corrosion activity.
Measurement data can be transferred from the instrument for further analysis, documentation, and reporting.
