CorroWatch Multisensor

CorroWatch Multisensor
Early Warning System for Initial Stages of Corrosion
CorroWatch is an embedded corrosion monitoring system designed for installation in new reinforced concrete structures. By positioning measuring electrodes at different depths within the concrete cover, CorroWatch provides early indication of corrosion initiation, helping owners and engineers plan maintenance before corrosion-related deterioration becomes visible.
The CorroWatch Multisensor consists of four black steel measuring electrodes (anodes) positioned at known distances from the reinforcement and a noble-metal cathode. The height of the anodes can be adjusted according to the thickness of the concrete cover.
To monitor corrosion development, the current between the individual anodes and cathode is measured using the CorroZoa handheld Zero Ohm Ammeter or a compatible datalogger. As corrosion activity reaches each measuring depth, the measured current increases significantly, providing an early indication of corrosion initiation within the concrete cover.

Features & Benefits
- Early warning at multiple depths – monitors corrosion activity at different depths within the concrete cover.
- Designed for new construction – embedded during construction, with adjustable anode heights to suit the concrete cover thickness.
- Supports proactive maintenance planning – provides condition information before corrosion-related deterioration becomes visible.
- Flexible monitoring options – readings can be taken using the CorroZoa handheld meter or through a compatible datalogger.
- Suitable for difficult-to-access locations – provides embedded monitoring where future visual inspection may be difficult.
Applications
CorroWatch is intended for new concrete structures where early detection of corrosion initiation and long-term monitoring are important.
Typical applications include:
- Tunnels and bridges in marine environments
- Bridge decks and other structures exposed to de-icing salts
- Parking structures
- Structures exposed to aggressive environmental conditions
- Locations where future inspection access is limited
How It Works
CorroWatch uses four black steel measuring electrodes positioned at different depths within the concrete cover. As the conditions that initiate reinforcement corrosion progress through the concrete cover, each electrode provides an indication when corrosion activity reaches its depth.
The resulting change in current between each anode and the cathode is measured using the CorroZoa meter or a compatible datalogger. Because measurements are taken at several depths, CorroWatch provides staged early warning as corrosion conditions progress toward the reinforcement.
