Vector Corrosion Technologies Introduces Vector® Galvanode™ ASZ+
July 2004

Vector Corrosion Technologies, a leading supplier of products and services for corrosion mitigation in concrete and masonry structures, is pleased to announce the commercial availability of Vector Galvanode ASZ+.

Vector Galvanode ASZ+ is a galvanic cathodic protection system that utilizes a patented humectant-activator solution to provide a higher current output than traditional metalized zinc anodes. After a thin coating of high purity zinc (generally 10 to 20 mils in thickness) is metalized onto the exposed concrete surface and made electrically continuous with the embedded reinforcing, the Vector Galvanode Humectant activator solution is applied onto the zinc coating. Vector Galvanode ASZ+ can also be used to improve the performance of metalized anodes in an impressed current cathodic protection system.

Vector Galvanode ASZ+ has been shown to provide up to 7 times the current output of unactivated zinc. Additionally, activated zinc has been shown to have a better current distribution and higher bond strength over time thus resulting in increased anode service life. Galvanode ASZ+ can be used in both marine and non-marine applications. Typical applications for Vector Galvanode ASZ+ include protecting bridge substructures, parking garages, and piers and wharfs exposed to corrosive environments.
