Project Description:
The 3rd street viaduct was originally constructed in the mid 30's. Leaking expansion joints on the weathered structure was the cause of chlorides contaminating the pier bents on the substructure. In the early 80's a nosing and bladder system was installed in all expansion joints. These joints failed shortly after installation and were leaking steadily over several years.

Project Solution:
The City of Minot incorporated the Galvashield® XP anodes into their conventional chip and patch repair because it was a cost effective solution to their corrosion problems.
