Project Description:
Only a few years after repairing the deck of the overpass, the area between two, lane-width patches began showing signs of cracking, delamination and spalling. These signs, and the area in which the problem was found, were typical of patch-accelerated corrosion.
Project Solution:
The City of Winnipeg, deciding not to fall victims to a continual patching situation, chose to incorporate Galvashield® XP anodes to limit further deterioration. As an additional benefit, and at the request of the City, the anodes are monitored on a continual basis.
