Can I use Galvashield anodes with higher resistance repair materials (i.e. concrete or mortar with silica fume or polymer)?
If the selected repair material has a resistivity is greater than 15,000 ohm centimetre one may still utilize galvanic anodes. To enhance the amount of current that flows to the parent concrete, create a low resistivity "bridge" between the anode and the parent concrete using a normal resistance mortar or grout. Vector Corrosion Technologies can assist you in determining whether the concrete or mortars to be utilized within your rehabilitation will be satisfactory or whether the additional resistivity bridge would be required.
