Norcure Re-alkalization used to Protect Historic Air Terminal

In cities around the world, building facades are showing signs of corrosion damage to concrete spandrel beams, columns, and balconies. Chlorides introduced to the concrete during the original construction (cast-in chlorides) or from sea spay from an ocean-front view causes widespread damage. It is also becoming more common to find concrete structures that are suffering from the effects of carbonation due to the exposure to atmospheric carbon dioxide. And concrete buildings are not alone; masonry-clad steel framed buildings are also affected by corrosion of steel shelf angles and structural steel elements.

From large commercial structures to government buildings to seaside condominiums, many buildings can benefit from the use of corrosion mitigation systems. Typical applications include Galvashield® embedded galvanic anodes to extend the life of patch repairs. Balcony and other slab replacements that create a long interface between existing concrete and new concrete can be protected using Galvashield® and Galvanode® DAS anodes.

Galvashield® CC anodes are used to provide proactive corrosion control to columns, beams, balconies and walkways.

Norcure® Re-alkalization provides a long-term corrosion solution to structures suffering from carbonation-induced corrosion.

Ebonex® and Vectrode® products are used to provide impressed current cathodic protection to overcome on-going corrosion in both concrete and steel frame masonry buildings.
